Will a Fiji eSIM work at your resort? Island by island
Anyone who has been to Fiji knows the signal is patchy once you leave the main island, so the honest place to start is where this eSIM does and does not reach. The eSIM4 Fiji eSIM uses the Digicel network. On Viti Levu that means 4G at Nadi and the airport, Denarau, the Coral Coast, Pacific Harbour and Suva, and on the boat out to the Mamanucas. Savusavu and Labasa on Vanua Levu are covered too. The Yasawas and the smaller outer islands are the ones to check: some resorts sit under a tower and some rely on their own Wi-Fi, and the resort will tell you which in one email. Plan on the eSIM for the mainland days and the transfers, and treat outer-island signal as a bonus.
What you are buying. A data-only plan from USD 6.98 that arrives by email a few minutes after you pay, installs with a QR code or a one-tap link, and needs no ID check. There is no Fijian phone number with it; calls go over WhatsApp or FaceTime on the data, which is how most visitors call home anyway.
How much data a Fiji holiday uses. A week at one resort, checking the boat times, sharing photos and messaging home, comes in under 1 GB (USD 6.98 for 7 days); two weeks doing the same is 2 GB over 15 days for USD 11.98. Moving between Nadi, the Coral Coast and Suva with video calls in the evening, take 5 GB or 10 GB over 30 days, USD 28.98 and 47.98. If you would rather stream by the pool without watching a counter, the unlimited plans run 3 to 15 days from USD 26.98. Run short and a top-up takes a minute online, no new eSIM needed.
When the days begin. The plan sits dormant until the first time it connects in Fiji, so you can buy and install it weeks ahead and nothing counts down while you are still at home.
Island-hopping beyond Fiji. If Fiji is one leg of a Pacific trip, the Oceania eSIM covers Fiji, Australia, New Zealand, Samoa, Tonga, Vanuatu, Papua New Guinea and Nauru on a single plan from USD 2.98 for 1 GB over 7 days, and there is nothing to swap between flights. Fiji only, buy the Fiji plan above; Fiji plus neighbours, buy the Oceania plan.
Pick a plan above, pay in USD by card, and check your inbox. Bula.
